This delicious smoothie recipe serves 2 people and only takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1 large banana or 2 small, frozen
- 200ml chilled high protein milk
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp LSA (see 'Tips' below)
Method
- In a blender combine frozen banana, milk, almond butter, cocoa, maple syrup and LSA.
- Blend on high for 1 minute.
- Pour into a glass and serve. For thickened drinks, strain and thicken using thickening powder to manufacturer’s instructions.
Tips: Ensure you strain before serving for pureed diet. Try to use frozen fruit for smoothies, it makes them icy cold and gives a thicker consistency. When freezing bananas, make sure that you peel them first, slice into thirds and place into a zip lock bag. This will make them easier to blend. LSA is a high protein mixture of ground linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds and is available in the health food section of the supermarket.
